Mendocles privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026
Mendocles is a flashcard app for learning languages. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it, in the Android app and on the web.
Your cards stay on your device
The languages you study, the words and pictures you add, and your study progress are stored on your own device, inside the app. They are not uploaded to us, and there are no accounts to create.
What we do not collect
Mendocles does not send your words anywhere, and it does not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, or other personal information. It does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind.
Pictures and files
When you add a picture to a card or restore a backup, the app reads only the file you choose. Pictures are shrunk and saved on your device with your cards. They are never uploaded.
Audio
Words are read aloud by your device's own text-to-speech engine. The text is handled by that engine on your device, under its own privacy terms.
Fonts
To display its typefaces, the app loads fonts from Google Fonts. As with any web request, Google receives your device's IP address when the fonts load. No information about your words or progress is included.
Backups and deleting your data
You can download a backup of your words from Settings at any time. To delete everything on your device, use Settings, then Erase everything, or uninstall the app. We have no copy of your data, so there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
Children
Mendocles is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
